While we cannot predict the future of European democracy in 2040,we can imagine –- and re-imagine the possibilities.

YouthDecide 2040 brings together diverse voices to co-create visions of ever more resilient European democracies.

Through inclusive, transparent, and replicable processes, we will create, together, strategies to support your visions for thriving democracy in Europe in 2040.

EXPECTED IMPACT

ADVANCING
KNOWLEDGE

YouthDecide 2040 will deliver new insights into how people of different generations may have different expectations of their democracies.

We will also develop an innovative approach to blending in-person and on-line co-creation of scenarios and strategies to advance European democracy.

EQUIPPING YOUTH AND PEOPLE OF ALL AGES

The participatory foresight approach of the project will give hundreds of youth the hands-on experience of mitigating conflict, learning together and integrating diverse sources of knowledge when it comes to shaping futures of European democracies. Thousands more people of all ages will gain the experience of constructively considering and responding to key issues of democratic governance beyond echo chambers.

Reinvigorating our visions of democracy

YouthDecide 2040 will distil and share co-created visions with political organisations, European institutions, national governments, youth organisations, and activists to inspire action.

Co-created strategies will be delivered and shared to integrate visions into policy and practice.
